Braces aftercare

When you have finally come towards the end of the orthodontic treatment some questions might come up:

Will my teeth stay in the correct position automatically?
Following an orthodontic treatment it is sometimes recommended to stabilise the result. Therefore so-called retainers are used. Retainers are very common and most people have to a wear a retainer for at least a little while after getting their braces taken off.

How long must retainers be worn?
It depends on each individual patient and on duration and way of orthodontic treatment for how long additional stabilisation is needed. In certain cases stabilisation will last for years.

How often do I have to see my orthodontist after the end of my treatment?
As long as you are wearing a retainer you should see your orthodontist regularly. The appointments will be made individually from your orthodontist.
